Fractionated or “pixilated” carbon dioxide (CO2) lasers are one of the latest advances in non-surgical skin rejuvenation treatments. The CO2 has the longest wavelength of all the lasers on the market and can be used safely on darker skin types with appropriate adjustments in the settings.
A Carbon Dioxide (C02) Fractional Laser works by removing layers of skin tissue in a fractionated method. In this method, columns of skin are removed, leaving the skin surrounding each column intact to aid in healing. The Zoom Chairside Whitening System is safe, effective and fast, requiring only 45 minutes at the dentist’s. The Zoom in-office tooth whitening procedure uses the Zoom Advanced Power Chairside Lamp – said to accelerate the bleaching process – to activate the 25% hydrogen peroxide whitening gel. As the hydrogen peroxide is broken down, oxygen enters the enamel and dentin to bleach the stained substances, leaving the structure of the tooth unchanged.
